Diep.io Strategy And Tips: On Tank Classes, Upgrading Stats And Progressing Through The Agar.io-Fashion Game
Been playing Agario spin-off game, Diep.io but need some tips for updating your tank and reaching higher amounts? Check out our Diep.io tips, tricks and strategy guide, here.
Diep.io, a third, browser-based game ace is taking the net by storm, joining the ranks of popular predecessors, Agar.io and Slither.io. But unlike Slither.io, which appeared rather simple to get a handle on after playing Agar.io, Diep.io, brings similar gameplay features but with some twists which makes it an altogether different beast.
If you’ve just began playing Diep.io but you really have’t gotten the handle on the different tank categories, when to upgrade and what stats are most helpful, we’ve put together a beginner’s guide to playing the game and leveling up without using any cheats.
irst things first, for those who've heard of the game but are’t certain how it’s played, basically, instead of being a true blog or a snake, you embody a small tank. The object of the game, like Agar.io and Slither.io is to become the biggest baddest tank around and it requires demolishing tanks around you in order to get there. However, in Diep.io it takes a bit more skill than understanding just how to dodge or dash at the proper times. In Diep.io we’ve also got stat points and tank groups that add sophistication to the gameplay.
To play the game, you have to visit Diep.io, type in a username and you’ll be taken to a recognizable looking game grid with your tiny tank in the middle (blue circle with tiny grey square attached).
Challenges in the game, which you must shoot in order to get expertise and later level up, comprise coloured squares, triangles and pentagons.
To shoot simply point your mouse at your target and click the left mouse button or tap the space bar (instead, you can hold down either the left mouse or space bar for continuous shots).
To move around the grid, use your arrow keys
When you destroy shapes or other tanks your tank level bar begins to fill. Once it’s full you level up.
Each time your Tank degrees up you acquire a stat point which lets you add stats to your tank like health, bullet speed, penetration – there are eight district stats you'll be able to update using points (more on those below). You get a stat point for each degree up until you hit 30.
When you reach level 15 tank you'll be able to pick what group of tank you desire to belong to – there are four. Each class, just like stats, adds a unique component to your gameplay (more on tank classes below).
There are 8 different stat upgrades you'll be able to use. When you level up your tank, a stat menu seems to the left of your game screen. Below are the stats you'll be able to pick from. You select a stat by tapping on the plus sign beside each.
Health Regen - Raises the life recovery speed of your tank
Max Health - Increases the maximum life
Body Damage - Improves the damage caused by collision with other players or obstacles
Bullet Speed - Raises the speed of the projectile

Bullet Penetration - Bullets go through obstacles and players
Bullet Damage - Enhances the damage brought on by projectile
Reload - Interval decreased bullets
Movement Rate - Increases movement speed of your tank
Each of these stats clearly brings its own sets of benefits and as you consider the Tank type you are going to select, you’ll desire to add complimentary upgrades. For instance, snipers load slower so you’ll need to make their shots count. You’ll also need to consider the types of players you see on the board at the time. If the server is loaded with players, for example, health upgrades might come in handy.
There are four different tank types in Diep.io, which seem once you’ve reached a degree 15 tank. Each course offers its own unique advantages:
Twin - Adds a second firearm shooting at an identical frequency
Sniper - Increases the range of vision and the projectile damage. Group with slower shooting
Machine Gun - Cannon increases the angle and shoots projectiles quicker
Flank Guard - Fires in two different ways
At degrees 30 and 45, the above classes upgrade to even more strong tanks. They're as follows:
Twin -> Triplet -> Pentashot
Sniper -> Overseer -> Overlord
Machine Gun -> Destroyer -> Mega Destroyer
Flankguard -> Twin Flank -> Octotank
UPGRADE: A brand new Necromancer class was added Wednesday. Find out what it does and just how to get it, here.
Diep.io Strategies And Upgrade Tips
We searched several Diep.io clothing around the internet and discovered players sharing upgrade combos and strategies they're using. We have posted a few of them below.
Diep.io Strategy #1 – by FPTN on Reddit
Get to level 15 and upgrade to a Twin
Max out Bullet Damage and Reload (alternative between)
Add a point into Health Regen
Get to level 30 and upgradto a Triplet (NOT Triple-shot!)
Max out Bullet Penetration
Max out Bullet Speed
Add the remainder into Max Wellbeing
“The idea is that you are always protected by your own flow of bullets,” FPTN wrote. “The high Bullet Penetration and Reload means that enemy bullets will never be able to reach you, as they'll be gunned down by your bullets. Then if they attempt to body slam you, they'll expire to your high damage stream of bullets. With this in mind, you can go on to pick your own fights and escape from unwanted ones by covering yourself with a big, impenetrable wave of bullets. I killed 145 tanks on my last game using this build before I had to leave.”
